March 17th, 2020
Dear Valued Patients and Guests,
Considering the current COVID-19/coronavirus concerns affecting us here in the US and abroad, we want to inform you about the measures A&E is taking to safeguard our patients’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as ensure continuity of care.
- We have retrained our staff on thorough infection control policies that are in place as part of our established clinic operations. This includes washing hands between each patient encounter, routinely sanitizing surfaces and “high-touch” areas of the office, and staying home if they have symptoms such as a cough, fever, or respiratory illness.
- We have instituted enhanced screening protocols and prohibited persons with symptoms such as cough, fever, or respiratory illness, those who have traveled abroad in the last 14 days, and those who have been exposed to a person with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 from entering our office.
- We have removed all magazines, books, and other reading materials from the waiting rooms as they are difficult to disinfect. We have also moved coffee/water dispensers to behind the counter.
- We have canceled all group activities, such as seminars and group screening events to limit our staff’s person-to-person contact.
- We are limiting guests in our office to one per patient. Patients, parents, and caregivers are advised that additional guests must wait outside or in their vehicles. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that you understand we are taking these measures to ensure your safety and ours.
- We have staggered appointments and expanded our walk-in hours to minimize patient overlap.
- We are limiting the capacity of our waiting room to the absolute minimum.
- >We are moving as many services as possible to drop-off or curbside to minimize the number of people entering our office.
If you have questions or concerns about any of these measures, please speak with a member of our staff. Thank you for your cooperation. We remain committed to your healthcare and look forward to serving you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kamal Elliot, Au.D.
